Lukas De Kock’s Expertise I have a passion for technology, tinkering with computers as a child and being fascinated by the constantly evolving landscape of IT. I completed degrees in Information Science and Socio Informatics. The focus of study was the way information and technology affected and influenced how organisations and individuals operate and make decisions. My final year project was completed in 2004 and explored the emergence of mobile broadband as a powerful new trend and how the shifting of information consumption was being slowly facilitated by evolving mobile technology. After I completed my studies in 2005 I headed for the UK on a working holiday visa. While there I worked on projects for companies such as GlaxoSmithKline and Collar Capital in the information management and archiving fields. Upon my return to South Africa in 2007 I joined a start-up, NAXiAN Digital Management Solutions, where my experience over the span of four years was spread across a multitude of functions including; email forensics, marketing, accounts and billing, training and training material, client IT support, IT support management, taxonomy projects, email archiving, email encryption using PGP, hosted SharePoint DMS, report writing, workflow diagrams and business analysis. An opportunity to work with the emerging Android-based service industry came across my path and I left NAXiAN to pursue this new venture in 2011. I founded MobiSquared with two partners in 2011. The aim of the venture was to create a mobile golf scoring app using Google Android tablets. A prototype app was created and tested and I left the company a year later. In 2012 I was approached by Laurance Trading to update their systems. I facilitated a migration to an industry specific administration program. In August 2013 I joined Hetzner in a Technical Support Consultant capacity. I left the company in December 2018 before emigrating to the UK.
