As the Interim Director of the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice, I steered NJAIJ’s advocacy for the rights of all immigrants regardless of status. Over the years, I have acquired expertise in immigration policy, gender violence, reproductive justice, economic empowerment and Asian American communities. Having been a practitioner as well as an advocate, I'm proficient in the entire gamut from program design to policy advocacy, including operations, financial management, governance, development, community engagement, capacity building and program evaluation. My expertise includes design and facilitation of convenings and retreats, as well as fielding research studies. In my consulting practice, I specialize in organizational transition - Interim Director support, Staff and Board recruitment, Founder to Staff transition, fiscal sponsorship assessment, asset mapping and transition/succession/growth planning. As Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University, I teach courses in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies, as well as Public Policy. On the volunteer front, as Vice President of the Board of Maharashtra Foundation, a philanthropy, I participate in critical decisions regarding funding of grassroots social change work in India.
