Maria Gonzalez-Perez’s Expertise Maria Alejandra Gonzalez-Perez (PhD, MBS, Psy) is a Distinguished Professor of Corporate Sustainability and the Head of the Master in Sustainability at Universidad EAFIT in Colombia. She has a held various leadership roles in international organizations. Maria-Alejandra served as the Vice-President of Administration at the Academy of International Business (AIB) from August 2015 to August 2018, and as the regional chapter chair for Latin America and the Caribbean (AIB-LAT) from July 2018 to July 2021. She is also a member of the global council of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1 of the World Government Summit (2018-2020; 2021-2024), and the coordinator of the Colombian universities in the virtual institute of the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) from 2009 to 2019. Maria-Alejandra is a Research Partner at the CEIBS Center for Emerging Market Studies (CEMS), and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the business journal AD-minister. She holds a PhD in Commerce with a focus on International Business and Corporate Social Responsibility, and a Master's degree in Business Studies in Industrial Relations and Human Resources Management from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She also conducted postdoctoral research at the Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI) in NUI Galway. Prior to her positions in Colombia, Maria-Alejandra worked as a researcher in various organizations including the Centre for Innovation and Structural Change (CISC), Irish Chambers of Commerce, and the Economics of Social Policy Research Unit (ESPRU) in Ireland. She has also been a Visiting Professor at ESAN (Lima, Peru), Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM, Mexico), Lebanese American University (LAU) (Beirut, Lebanon), Porto Business School (PBS, Porto, Portugal), Universidad de Chile (Santiago, Chile). Maria-Alejandra has published 17 books, 74 academic peer-reviewed papers, and numerous book chapters in the areas of internationalization of firms from emerging markets, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, reputation, and international migration. She is a regular contributor to Latin American business media. In addition to her academic achievements, Maria-Alejandra was trained as a Clinical Psychologist at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Colombia.
