Ben is not alone. 1 in 5 young people now live with a mental health condition and 600 children every week reach crisis point. Shockingly, 70-80% of young people that need help never receive support. This is why we’re building Orli - to connect families to professional help, without the wait. My background: I am someone with professional and lived experience of mental health. In 2022, I burnt out. With a little bit of work, and lots of support, I got back to being me. It may sound strange but I'm grateful. The experience opened my eyes. It gave me direction. I started 'TheStraightTalkingDr' — a platform I created to support people to improve their mental health. This grew into a successful podcast. In 2023, Euan and I set on our mission is to change the culture around mental health by empowering families through a community-focused approach. My previous experience includes: • 6 years of medical practice including Community and Inpatient Mental Health, Accident & Emergency and General Practice • Developing a research paper into Long COVID Biomarkers • Leading The Royal Free London Long COVID service • Trustee of the Oddballs Foundation Charity • Multiple Public Speaking events across corporate and charity events • Training with Murphy Bishop Academy to become a Systemic Coach Nhs
