Maruthi Devarakonda’s Expertise Dr. Maruthi Devarakonda is a senior technical leader for research and technology development at Baker Hughes, responsible for identifying and executing on cutting-edge technologies in carbon capture and utilization, hydrogen, methane emissions abatement, industrial sensor products and software solutions, applied to energy and transportation sectors. A staunch advocate of mitigating the effects of climate change on human health, on the planet and on environment, he has more than two decades of experience in emissions abatement where he applied chemistry to develop novel model-based control systems and analytics. Maruthi holds 40 patents (26 US, 14 EU) in the broader areas of emissions and analytics, and has published in 30+ peer-reviewed publications including an invited book chapter. He was one among the 60 engineers across the US and Germany invited to participate in US National Academy of Engineering’s German-American Frontiers of Engineering symposium in 2020. Maruthi holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
