Matt Terhune’s Expertise Most accurate morning/noon weekday weather forecaster using WSI Computer System. I closely covered every Gulf of Mexico tropical activity. My first was Hurricane Bret in 1999 that hit just south of Corpus Christi, TX. Other exciting ones that I remember were Hurricane Claudette that hit just north of Corpus Christi in 2003. Hurricane Katrina in 2005 that hit Biloxi, MS and New Orleans, LA. Hurricane Rita that hit Beaumont/Port Arthur, TX and Lake Charles, LA. Hurricanes Dolly south of Corpus Christi, Edouard into Beaumont, Gustav into Louisiana, Fay into Florida, and Ike that hit Galveston, TX in 2008.Went from weekend meteorologist while I was in my last semester at Texas A&M University to morning/noon weekday meteorologist after graduation. I covered many severe thunderstorms. I remember one with up to softball size hail and an F4 tornado near Hillsboro.
