Trained as an epileptologist at The University of Cinncinnati, Dr Morris has created the Evaluation and Surgery Programs at The Medical College of Wisconsin, Aurora St Lukes Medical Center and Ascension St Mary's-Milwaukee Medical Center. He is a Professor of Neurology and active lecturer. He has been involved in over 800 surgeries for epilepsy in his career in Cincinnati, MCW, Aurora, and now St Mary's-Milwaukee, part of Ascension Healthcare. He is an adjunct with UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University, and UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Morris has been involved in the development of functional magnetic resonance imaging in the areas of epilepsy and detection of memory and speech. Several publications have arisen from this work as well as comparisons of intraoperative mapping to the results of functional MRI. Dr Morris chaired The Medical Society of Milwaukee County Health Literacy Collaborative. The Collaborative was created to convene interested members of the health literacy community with the mission to catalog current activities, explore future collaborations, and identify areas of need.
