Michal Marcus’s Expertise Over the last eight years as the Executive Director of HFLA of Northeast Ohio, I have built a proven track record of promoting culture-building to enhance organizational strategies and operations. As a transparent, inclusive leader, I am passionate about driving cross-functional collaboration to meet long-term program goals. Building organizational values based on doing the right thing is my fundamental strategy to ensure continued success. I accomplish this through inclusivity and open communication with staff, consulting with experts, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. Working towards social change is my professional motivation. Moving forward, I remain committed to identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships to enable growth in challenging Covid-19 affected communities. A few of my selected accomplishments: ⭐ Restructured a small 117-year-old non-profit with no board term limits to a diverse engaged board with term limits and a clear vision. ⭐ Grew our donor base by establishing relationships with foundations and corporations for funding. ⭐ Increased our interest-free loan fund from our assets from 500K to 3M. ⭐ Served as a leader on the Ohio Coalition of payday lending reform. ⭐ Developed the agency from one to seven full-time staff, growing clientele from 50 per year to over 105. In addition to my professional achievements, I possess exemplary educational qualifications, including a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bryant & Stratton College. Also, I am a Leadership Cleveland Alum and have participated in Phase 1 of 2-Day Racial Equity and Inclusion Training. I am currently a Mentor at the College Now of Greater Cleveland and the Community of Hope. I worked as a Hotline/Face-to-face volunteer for the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. My work has been featured on NPR and Ideastream. In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking and walking in nature.
