  "The Pen is mightier than the sword." Since immigrating to the United States at a young age, this mantra has become the core of my passion and interest in politics, history, and policy making. Growing up watching both Western and Middle Eastern News, I was heavily exposed to the effect that world leaders had with just their words, from false campaign promises to statements in crisis to declarations of war. I grew up being taught that if I wanted to cement any kind of change, I had to do it myself. Over my collegiate tenure this has manifested itself in two ways. First, on a political level. Throughout my college journey, I sought various academic and non-academic political positions. In community college, I was elected to represent 200,000+ students as Regional Affairs Director to the California Government, leading a district-wide team and sitting on the State-wide Board of Directors. In both CC and at UCR, I was elected as Chief Justice of the respective Judiciary Branches of the student governments, in both situations overhauling the student adjudication process and rewriting the governing documents of my branches. Between the 2020 General Election and 2022 Midterms, I have also been hired as Campaign Manager (2020 and 2022 Primaries) and Campaign Advisor/Speechwriter (2022 Midterms). Second, on a cultural level. Since I was 12 years old, I have been volunteering for the Muslim Group of USA and Canada, eventually being nominated to Head of Serving in 2019 and Chief Hotel Liaison for the Sirat Initiative in 2022. At CC, I co-founded the Muslim Students Association and drafted it's Constitution. That same year, I collaborated over several months with Mt. SAC Administration to plan the inaugural Middle Eastern Student Awareness Event, a teach-in and lunch social for Faculty and Administration. After transferring to UCR, I was elected to leadership roles in SJP, MESA, and the Lebanese Student Association (LSA). Utilizing my positions to expand awareness, I coordinated a 5-month resources drive for Lebanon after the Port explosion, and worked alongside colleagues to champion Palestinian advocacy on campus. As a Regional, State, and National Champion in Public Speaking, I have always believed in the power of discourse and diplomacy. Having wrapped up my collegiate career, I hope to find deeper work in Public Policy and International Relations. As a post-Grad, I will be taking a break from school before law school to gain real-world political experience, and will be applying abroad.
