Notable achievements are: i) the invention of a process for the synthesis of one-step template free metallic nano-rods/nano-wires of Ni and NiCo alloys ii) Manufacturing 3D-net-shaped nanocrystalline metallic products iii) Direct nickel plating of aluminium, titanium and stainless steel without any pre-treatment. iv) Synthesis of nano-composites by high temperature diffusion heat-treatment for aerospace/industrial gas turbine applications v) Synthesis of nano-structured metals/alloys by attrition milling/mechanical alloying and chemical reduction process – MCrAlY bond-coat for Industrial Gas Turbine applications vi) Growth modelling of mwcnt (carbon-nanotubes) produced by MOCVD process (University of Cambridge 2001/02) During my 25 years of my academic career, I have supervised more than 30 PhD/Masters research degree student projects to completion. I lead a Team of Researchers and students conducting research in my field of interest.
