Having graduated from Brunel with a MSc in Aerospace engineering I came out of university and wished to pursue a more operational role and since then paved the way for myself gaining a whole host of experience in passenger handling, flight operations and air freight. Since joining Rolls Royce I have turned my attention back to my engineering field and wish to pursue a career as a mechanical engineer. My current role is in the Composite Technology Facility (CTF) in Rolls Royce. I provide support to the mechanical engineering team in carrying out inspection work engine blades using a GOM scanner which are to be fitted to the latest Ultrafan engine. Other tasks involve working out the centre of gravity of these blades to assist in working out where in the engine, and also frequency testing to check the natural frequency would not damage the engine.
