Nadun Dasanayake’s Expertise My goal is to provide safe and equal access to technology for all 1.2M students in NYC. I have worked with the DOE for over 20 years and in this time have had the opportunity to lead efforts in expanding bandwidth capabilities for all 1,700 schools in NYC. After seeing how new technologies have influenced and changed the way my own children learn, I am proactively working to ensure that all schools have the bandwidth and tools to effectively leverage technology for teachers and students. In February 2020, I was honored to be named a 'City Hero' at Mayor Bill de Blasio's annual State of the City Address. I hope to use continue impacting the city through my work and foster collaborative and effective teams at the DOE.
