Nancy Ayers’s Expertise For 24 years I have been an elementary school teacher (and for one year middle school). I currently teach 5th grade, but have taught 3rd grade through 8th grade. I also did 3 years teaching in our computer lab when we were first developing the program to use in the lab.with students. It was exciting to see students embrace using computers even when they were brand new. There were a few kindergartners who weren't sure about them though, because they were afraid to touch the mouse, which they thought were real mice. For the last 15 years I have also had a great part time job. I am an instructor for the Michigan State University Educational Technology Certificate program. This program has changed a lot in 15 years and I have been able to keep up with technology with it. I really enjoy the interaction with other teachers from all sectors of education and business. I learn right along with my students. Now that we have gone online, I have had the privilege of working with teachers in many parts of the world.
