  My journey as an educator has been like a river's, with tributaries branching off the whole way. Prior to earning a teaching license, I took joy in helping people learn whether it be a sport, how to use a computer (when personal computers first were on the market), about disabilities, how to cook, and more too numerous to mention. Tributaries. I have always just loved the helping component of teaching, seeing the joy in a learner's face when they've accomplished something new. That path has taken me through years of teaching in classrooms in many grades K through 8 whether I was a head teacher or coach. Tributaries. I've taught, tutored, and coached many people from very young ages through adults in the world of understanding mathematics, best practices in teaching mathematics and general self-organization as learners. Tributaries. I've shifted gears many times throughout my career and have loved the challenge of conquering my own learning curves. I've changed grade levels of classrooms. I've shifted from educator of children to educator of teachers, adminstrators, and parents. I've focused on my own classrooms to thinking holistically at school and district levels. I've shifted from face to face instruction and relationships to fully remote instructional delivery and interactions. I keep the river of my learning moving forward with all its tributaries. With each experience I've been lucky enough to have, I've grown through struggles and successes, developed and refined my practices, and have loved and laughed along the way.
