Here, we worked on developing a point-of-care diagnostic test for detection of antimicrobial resistance in urinary tract pathogens. I see myself as a researcher, scientist, innovator, teacher and a science communicator. I have more than twelve years of research exposure where I had adequate training about budgeting, forecasting product development and protection of intellectual property rights arising from scientific discoveries. While doing my own research work, I gradually realized that doing science in laboratory is as exciting as disseminating science. Be that to students, fellow researchers or to a completely naïve audience. As a researcher, I feel, I was fortunate that I was not confined to one singled domain – laboratory. But, was an active participant in organizing several symposia, lectures, workshops and conferences organized by the institutes where I worked for my PhD, postdoc or independent project.
