Neil Brown’s Expertise A TOGAF and CISSP certified OT Security Architect with a strong technical background. I have worked in a variety of Solution and Enterprise Architecture roles, in a variety of industries, with a focus on Operational Technology/Industrial Control System security. Starting my career in UNIX admin roles and moving through implementation and design roles into Architecture has given me a deep understanding of a wide variety of technologies. Paired with a detailed knowledge of security, networking and IT, OT & ICS infrastructure, I ensure my designs are demonstrably resilient, performant, scalable and secure. I pride myself on my high quality documentation and my stakeholder engagement, from CxO level, to technical implementation staff and third party suppliers, vendors or customers. I’m also used to explaining roadmaps and plans to regulatory bodies and government departments and agencies such as the NCSC. I take the time to get to know the business and its goals in-depth and come up with technical solutions to help realise those goals. I work closely with project or programme managers and commissioning engineers to get systems implemented on time and on budget. I’m used to working in regulated and audited environments, including NIS, COMAH and NERC-CIP. Part of my work is to ensure that systems are compliant to any applicable standards and remain so during their lifetime. I also work to various IT frameworks, including ITIL and TOGAF. Importantly, I’m also familiar with working safely in operational environments, including high voltage electricity transmission environments, whether that be to gain an understanding of requirements or a problem in a live environment, or commissioning a solution into that environment.
