In the Fall I knew something was wrong. I was getting worse not better. December 2014 my neurologist felt I had early onset Bulbar ALS. It was January 2015 when I started to feel it in my hands and February when I had my first fall due to weakening leg muscles. At the end of March my neurologist still felt it was ALS but of course hoping it was something else. That is when she told me to research it. That is when my new job began. I started researching it with my sister and found long term survivors had to make many changes in their lives. I had to change my diet. No more sugar, gluten, msg, hydrogenated oils, and absolutely no processed foods. I had to go pure. Give up the cleaners, air fresheners and perfumes. I am learning a lot about supplements, herbal tinctures and essential oils. So my new job is learning everything I can about ALS and trying to live a happy, full life with a fatal disease. The neurologist told me to get my life in order because with Bulbar onset the average life expectancy is 20 months from diagnosis. With my new job I plan on beating the odds! Let's hope research will come up with why it happens, differentiate the sub types and come up with a cure so I can look forward to many more happy years. Tourism Whistler
