I spent a decade on Capitol Hill, serving for eight years as a senior advisor to Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and then as deputy director for the Special Committee on Aging under Chairman Bill Nelson (D-FL). Over the course of my tenure in the Senate, I had the privilege of working on key issues such as Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, health IT, prescription drug pricing, aging, reproductive health, mental health, and reducing health disparities. Additionally, I served as legislative director for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. As the co-director of the federation’s government relations team, I oversaw congressional relations for the organization and its affiliates across the nation during one of the most critical times in the organization’s history. I currently serve on the boards of the Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum and the Planned Parenthood Advocates of DC, Maryland, and NoVA Action Fund. I was selected for the Fulbright Scholar and Specialist programs, the Australian Endeavour award, the Woodrow Wilson foreign policy fellowship, the AcademyHealth Health Policy in Action award, the Hartford Foundation Change AGEnt program, and the American Council of Young Political Leaders’ exchange program. My BA is from Indiana University, JD form the University of Minnesota, and LLM from Georgetown Law Center.
