For me, it’s to contribute to the building of a more just world. I know it sounds lofty, but I view the world as a place with incredible potential, that while home to amazing and resilient people, is also marred by unjust systems of violence and oppression. Education is my avenue to help combat these systems. While my formal education is in sports industry management, and while my current professional role is that of a college sports administrator, I view myself as an impact-driven community builder and educator whose work is grounded in principles of social justice. A servant leader who helps others recognize the value they bring wherever they go, and who helps build diverse and inclusive environments where people can thrive while they embrace their personal growth and live out their potential. I have a passion for bringing out the best in others, and actively creating spaces where people of all backgrounds are empowered and given the opportunity to grow and thrive. My experience as someone born and raised in the Bronx, who has had the privilege to go on to earn a graduate degree while working in numerous roles in higher education, has played a large part in my personal development and the shaping of my values. As a young professional working in higher education and college athletics, I believe education and learning is a lifelong journey fueled by curiosity and relationship building.
