Optimally my search will bring me to the Parks and Recreation department of some municipality, as my education and experience are geared more towards that direction. I was given experience in many departmental dealings, including: meetings, program budgeting, hiring, scheduling, facility rentals, customer service, maintenance, as well as program creation. I created two successful and continuously run programs for the department. I brought the popular movies in the park program into the pool / waterpark setting having completely sold out the event. I was also able to create a reading incentive program between local schools and the park district. I was tasked with bringing in three schools as a trial run; but I always aim to do more and make whatever it is I am involved with better. So, I was able to bring in 28 schools with 9800 students in total into the program, which helped increase attendance to our waterpark during the summer season. I very much would like to get back to creating and running programs and events. I have also spent time as the Manager on Duty (MOD) at the Vaughan Athletic Center with the Fox Valley Park District. It is a 225,000 sqft facility that had child care, a full fitness center, nine indoor tennis courts, a four court multiuse field house, and three aquatic areas. During my time as the MOD I would oversee the running of the facility when the full time facility manager was off. I would be supervising employees in each department, making sure everything was running smoothly, handle the opening and closing of the facility, take care of shift/daily cash drops, and handle any situation that may come up.
