Oxford Peng’s Expertise As a process R&D researcher at Shell, I apply my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and my passion for catalysis and reaction engineering to develop and maintain ethylene oxide catalyst performance models. These models support the global business team in achieving sales targets and provide engineering guidance and process design expertise to the reactor testing laboratory. I also have extensive experience in developing mathematical and statistical tools, machine learning and deep learning models, and embedded models for various chemical systems, such as fuel cells, and aftertreatment systems. One of my biggest achievements is developing the dynamic reduced order model for process simulation and next-generation controller development, where I invented the mathematical numerical solver solution that can achieve the real-time onboard chip simulation and physical based controller capabilities by solving the partial differential equations in any platforms without any computer solver. This core technology has tremendous application such as the physical based controller, virtual sensor, fault-isolation, and etc. I have received multiple awards and patents for my work and have published in prestigious journals.
