While working at EMC, I untangled their UNIX systems, developed and documented all process and procedures for day-to-day operations. I created their Internet infrastructure from mail gateways, DNS domains, ftp servers, etc. I was approached to help with the development of the SCSI interfaced standard for the EMC Symmetrix line and worked part time with Hardware/Software/Product Engineering. A major issue caused by operator error in not following documented procedure lead to a disaster in backups and data recovery. I was asked to correct this as "It must NEVER happen again." To this end, EMC entered EDR, maintenance/backup networks was started. I created a remote backup facility known as SNBS (Symmetric Network Back System) to be later renamed as EDM or (EMC Data Migration).
