Peter Francis’s Expertise Responsible for overall planning of the Tweedsmuir Project to First Oil including detailed planning of the subsea / riser scopes; whilst detailed planning of the Topsides scope on Piper Bravo was the responsibility of the Topsides Contractor (AMEC). Also responsible for Subsea/Topsides interface project engineering and First Oil Start-up planning.During 1999 Wood Group Engineering was awarded a major contract by BP Amoco to provide engineering support for it's assets in the northern sector of the North Sea (E & W Shetland/Central North Sea & Greater Forties). The scope involved 19 platforms and the Schellalion FPSO. This work covered a wide range of modifications including significant projects such as Forties Charlie Reconfiguration, ETAPS Water Injection Upgrade, ETAPS Satellites Project and Mungo Gas Lift. As Lead Planning Engineer responsible for the work of 10/11 Planning Engineers, main responsibility towards the end of my time at WGE was the ETAPS Satellites Project.Directly responsible to the Project Director for overall project planning and management reporting for the Banff Project. The Banff field was a new FPSO development which PGS operated on behalf of ConocoPhillips (Production capacity 90,000 bbl/day). PGS was responsible for implementation of the Project. The main sub-contractors were Topsides/Turret (Aker Maritime); Subsea (DSND); Oil Export systems (APL) and Operations (AFP).Responsible for conceptual and FEED study planning for a number of options to develop gas growth for BP in the Southern North Sea, in particular development of the Hoton Field and proposed West Sole System Expansion Project. This work involved development of scenarios for various engineering solutions and options, as well as monitoring the progress of the design team. Duties also included project engineering activities for the proposed Hoton Field,in particular development of the Operations and Maintenance philosophy involving close co-operation with BP Drilling/Operations.Responsible for planning associated with modifications to Total Oil Marine's UK installations (Alwyn/Dunbar platforms and St. Fergus plant).Responsible for construction planning of major modifications to Ninian Platforms (Chevron UK) to process oil/gas from new subsea oil developments. Duties included co-ordination with Topsides,Subsea,Operations,Commissioning and Construction engineers to develop construction and commissioning schedules and detailed shutdown planning. In addition to planning duties, also directly responsible for shutdown co-ordination,including engineering.Responsible for planning various projects executed by BP including the Corrosion Under Insulation Project (Sullom Voe), Welton Upgrading Project, Magnus Firewater Capacity Upgrade and various modifications/refurbishments to offshore platforms in the North Sea.Responsible to the Manager of Bulk Plant Projects for Project co-ordination concerning the design, procurement and construction of major oil product storage and loading facilities throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.Design specification of main equipment items (inc. modular skid mounted units), evaluation of bids/tenders to assess the technical suitability of equipment proposed by vendors,co-ordination of technical activities with vendors during contract execution,review of vendor's drawings and flowsheets,resolution of construction and commissioning problems. Two main Projects worked on were ADNOC Umm Al Nar Refinery ,Abu Dhabi and Woodside Offshore Petroleum Natural Gas Liquids Plant in Australia.Mainly involved in supporting the BLP Platform construction Hook-up activities and Interface co-ordination between the Project Delivery Teams.Overall Project Co-ordination between the various Project teams through all phases of the Project (i.e. Greenfield Engineering,Greenfield Construction,Brownfield,Subsea,Transport & Installation,Operations etc) in conjunction with the Project Team Managers and Interface Co-ordinator.
