As a member of the newscast team and Broadcasting Club I was immersed into the world of television news casting, advertising and being the bridge between the community and the university. As a news anchor I was in charge of editing and creating content for the university's newscast which was broadcast throughout the city of MaComb. My personality and work ethic led to me being hand picked for the opportunity to interview the mayor of Macomb and travel to Quincy for the Illinois Broadcaster's Association Banquet Award Ceremony where I received an award. I have been a member of the social media team at a previous job and was tasked with capturing pictures and videos of activities, outings and the annual Special Olympics programs. This eventually led to a new position of community outreach. During this time I met and interviewed the mayor of Worth Illinois and formed relationships with the community, several police departments and even helped to co-found a safe space program for at risk youth with the police departments of Palos Hills and Chicago Ridge. I was appointed the lead on the National Red Nose Day campaign where I was responsible for finding the location, creating the flyers and other promotional materials, as well as, keeping proper documentation of spending and activities. I am confident that I am a good candidate for this position. I have excellent customer service skills and have been awarded by two separate jobs with a certificate of appreciation for going above and beyond.
