Board certified, American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Memberships: International Society of Medical Publication Professionals, American Public Health Association, National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians, American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, American Association of Food Safety and Public Health Veterinarians, others. Instructor-in-charge of the public health courses within the ISU veterinary medicine program as well as the undergraduate course in Global Health, leader of international One Health study abroad programs (Jordan, Uganda). Previous consultation work for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization on assignment to Sierra Leone to assess the human and animal impact of rabies and in developing a community animal health worker program. I have also served as temporary advisor to the World Health Organization and the government of Mongolia on the public health and animal health aspects of brucellosis.
