  I have had the pleasure of working with incredible people across two separate industries as a design engineer, primarily focused on mechanical product development. Starting out in the Automotive world, I was part of a team, which designed and manufactured fastening solutions for light vehicle powertrain components. One of the true pleasures in this position came from participating in a research project which investigated opportunities in the immerging electric passenger vehicle market. I travelled with another great team for 9 months and under the guidance of a highly experienced Director of Innovation and Research for the entire 3 Billion Automotive Segment. The lessons I learned were invaluable. I now work for a smaller company on larger more complex and customizable systems. The personal autonomy and integration with other departments, something required by smaller companies, has proven very satisfying. I developed the first electromechanical actuation of certain products, redesigned and implemented changes on the manufacturing floor, and collaborated with QA on internal audits. From these experiences I have learned that I have a passion for New Product Development and collaboration.
