With infectious energy and stamina, he is also keen to explore opportunities with music band management and touring logistics. 20 years as a Royal Engineer Officer, he has extensive military operations, resident engineer and project director experience in the Gulf States, Balkans, Germany, United States, West Africa and the UK. On retirement from the military in 2001, Richard has specialised in Dispute Avoidance, Dispute Resolution and Expert Witness services in globally renowned construction and engineering consultancies, whilst fulfilling senior business-related roles; he has been involved in projects all over the world, ranging from construction, building and civil engineering projects through to energy related projects, both on and offshore, and shipbuilding projects. His technical skills include commercial and project management, construction contracts and claims analysis, evaluation of quantum and delay/disruption, and all forms of dispute resolution including giving expert evidence in both litigation and international arbitration. An experienced MSc-level tutor with both Cranfield University and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, he has provided training seminars and workshops in construction contracts and dispute resolution. He has also been guest speaker at many construction-related events and leading organisations in the construction law industry. He has Chartered Civil Engineer, Chartered Arbitrator and accredited Expert Witness experience stretching over 30 years. Previous roles include Chairman of the Academy of Experts, and Governor of the Expert Witness Institute.
