Risa Weber’s Expertise For many years I played softball as the pitcher. But, at work, I also equate myself with being the "short stop". I can survey all parts of the playing field and move and pivot in any direction as needed. I keep my eye on the ball while assessing how best to round the bases. My work has entailed managing different silos, which requires flexibility, depth of field, and accuracy. Each silo has its unique set of tasks and challenges; accounts receivable, deductions management, ecommerce/DTC, Oracle production issues, system enhancements, business process analysis and improvements. But I thrive on the exciting energy of incoming and outgoing requests, juggling projects, implementing efficiencies, sharing knowledge, collaborating, and mentoring my team and colleagues. I believe in quality control and doing things right the first time, as this has a direct impact on results. This is what motivates me. I have developed the ability to see clearly a full business process and identify weaknesses that need resolution. With understanding the end-to-end operations and systems, I can arrive at actionable insights. I have had the unique opportunity to forge relationships with both internal and external customers when collaborating on a project. By demonstrating to the team that changes will make everyone’s processes, and workload, easier, the group becomes a partner and ally. This is where we effect change. This is where it gets good! My motto is the 3 P’s”…Processes, Platforms, and People. • Concentrate on the business PROCESSES and improvements. There is always a simpler, better way. • Implement efficiencies with your PLATFORMS. Automation = quality control, data accuracy, and consistency. • Invest in your PEOPLE. Mentor and coach them to take on initiatives and lead by example. They will be happier, more productive, and feel supported by a manager/colleague who will get in the "work trenches" and help, no matter the task or project. There is a remarkable sense of accomplishment when you know your hard work and perseverance has helped a business become more successful. There is also a great sense of achievement when you have created a work family that is in sync personally and professionally.
