Rob Owen’s Expertise I am a former Investment Banker who took up the mantle as Chief Executive of a leading UK charity, and live the life of an intrepid explorer in my spare time, mostly recently completing winter expeditions to the North and Magnetic North Poles. I enjoyed two decades of success as a banker, living and working in the UK and Asia as I built and grew Equity Sales desks for HSBC, ABN AMRO, Schroders Securities, and Nomura. My sea change came in the form of St Giles Trust, where as CEO, I grew the organisation into a multi-award winning charity which works with some of the most complex and hardest to reach service users in the UK. I am proud of all we achieved over the course of 15 years, but perhaps most notably, some of the highest levels of impact ever delivered by a UK charity, and our inclusion in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For for over a decade. I was afforded the opportunity to serve as an industry thought-leader and commentator to the media and government during this time, having addressed several Prime Ministers, and both Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet, and was awarded an OBE for my services to social justice in 2015. Now seeking a next challenge, and open to both senior executive and Non-Executive opportunities, I am particularly interested in organisations with a strong purpose and ambitious vision for growth and transformation.
