Robert Schentrup rschentrup@bradyunited.org & | Robert Schentrup is the brother of Carmen Schentrup, one of the 17 victims of the Parkland School Shooting. Ever since then, he has been working tirelessly on the issue of gun violence prevention with a myriad of organizations across the gun violence prevention space, focusing on youth organizing and policy. Robert also organized survivors of gun violence and advocates across the country through his organization Zero USA to work on policy around Extreme Risk Protective Orders and legislation to disarm domestic abusers. Unfortunately, the organization lost its funding abruptly from its incubator and had to close, but Robert continued his work around policy and organizing in the gun violence prevention space at various organizations. In May of 2020, Robert graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in Psychology and a specialization in Industrial and Organizational psychology. Afterward, he worked with Brady United on their youth program Team Enough as an Organizing Fellow working to expand their programming, with a focus on democracy reform. Feeling burnt out both emotionally and physically from working in politics for three years straight, Robert went to try something else and was the Director of Operations at a wholesale CBD start-up for about a year until the company, unfortunately, had to let him go because of financial issues. Always an organizer at heart, and after a much-needed break, Robert is ready to get back into the political realm and further his commitment to helping people, in whichever way he can.
