Robin Linsenmayer’s Expertise I am a Lecturer at Stanford Law School, experienced trial lawyer, and former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York. I teach legal research, writing, and advocacy skills to first year law students. My legal practice focused on internal corporate investigations, compliance, white collar criminal defense, complex civil litigation, and SEC and other government investigations and enforcement matters. For nearly 20 years, until 2024, I worked in large multi-national law firms--first Orrick’s Silicon Valley office, and then the San Francisco office of Paul, Weiss. I have extensive experience in matters involving securities fraud, trade secrets theft and espionage, accounting fraud, insider trading, wire and mail fraud, antitrust offenses, health care fraud, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. My clients included companies and organizations operating in the areas of financial services, the not-for-profit sector, cryptocurrency, higher education, biotech, solar technology, social media, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, computer hardware and software, and retail consumer goods, among others. I also advised clients on issues related to data privacy and child safety, including the development and implementation of privacy policies, compliance with child exploitation reporting laws, compliance with the federal Stored Communications Act and state data privacy laws, data security breach and response protocols, and privacy matters arising from law enforcement and national security investigations. Prior to entering private practice, I served for five years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. As a federal prosecutor, I investigated and prosecuted cases involving wire and mail fraud, money laundering, organized crime, terrorism, child exploitation crimes, and narcotics violations. I maintain an active pro bono practice focusing on representation of indigent women and children in immigration, domestic abuse, and criminal proceedings.
