Robyn Carroll’s Expertise Robyn is Professor of Law at the UWA Law School where she teaches and researches contract, remedies, mediation and family law and co-convenes the UWA Law School Obligations Hub. Robyn is a leading international authority on the role of apologies in private law and dispute resolution. In 2013 she co-founded the International Network for Law and Apology Research. She was invited by the Hong Kong Department of Justice in 2014 to write a research report on the enactment of apology legislation in Hong Kong. Robyn researches and publishes in articles and book chapters on these and other areas of private and dispute resolution. She is also editor of Civil Remedies: Issues and Developments (Federation Press, 1996); The Place of Apology in the Law with Professor Prue Vines in the Oñati Socio-Legal Series (2017) and most recently, Carroll, Chiu and Vines Apology Ordinance: commentary and annotations (Sweet & Maxwell, Hong Kong, 2018). Robyn's teaching and research interests in Family Law and Elder Law include elder mediation, property and financial issues for aging Australians and their families, prevention of elder abuse, and the significance of family violence in family law property matters.
