Rosie Campbell’s Expertise I'm passionate about transformative technology and its potential to radically improve the future. I'm motivated by opportunities to solve important, difficult problems using the framework of effective altruism: using reason and evidence to do the most good. In particular, I'm interested in the safe development of AI for the long-term flourishing of humanity. My academic background spans physics, philosophy, computer science, and machine learning. Previously, I worked as a research engineer in a multidisciplinary R&D lab developing experimental technical prototypes. I also cofounded a thriving intellectual futurist group to explore emerging technology, society and the future. I then joined Prof. Stuart Russell's technical research team at UC Berkeley working to ensure Artificial Intelligence is developed to be provably beneficial. I love learning and am insatiably curious. I enjoy intellectual challenges, optimizing systems, productivity, strategic thinking, and communicating complex ideas in an accessible way.
