Worked closely with the Executive Team to develop marketing, branding and communications strategies to aid in the diversification of client base. Identified RFPs and developed all proposals. All proposals were written for government agencies, including but not limited to, the Department of National Defence, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and Department of Indian and Northern Affairs.Provided research and editorial assistance on the report “Funding to Arts and Cultural Organizations by the City of Toronto, 1990-2008”. Developed marketing and promotional material for festivals such as Nuit Blanche, exhibit openings, and Doors Open Toronto. Developed briefing notes, executive summaries, reports and PowerPoint presentations for government officials. Conducted a review of the historical data on municipal arts funding. Used the data to present funding recommendation to City Council and secure funding for the Division. Developed media events to create positive media around the PMH1 Project. Materials for events included news releases, media pitches, event plans, media kits, and traffic reporters advisory. Provided key messages and quotes to media regarding significant traffic pattern changes. Organized and attended community events and consultations to ensure the public was aware of construction progress and to ensure that the PMH1 Project had a positive presence in the community. Maintained stakeholder relations and issues management for a variety of stakeholders including the City of Coquitlam, residents, businesses, Kiewit/Flatiron and the RCMP. Contributed to the PMH1 Project social media pages (Twitter, Facebook and YouTube) and website, and developed the copy for these communication tools. Used skills in plain-language writing and editing to produce community relations products in an analytical, time-sensitive, team-driven and highly confidential environment. Proactively sought out opportunities to gain positive earned media through social media, new releases and media events. Presented project updates to key stakeholders, including the Tri Cities Chamber of Commerce, Traffic Advisory Council, BC Trucking Association and members of City Council, community groups and schools.
