The Business Development Specialist provides marketing and administrative support to the Business Development Team with a primary focus on activities in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The Specialist assists in marketing the province of Alberta as a tourism destination and is responsible for delivering on Travel Albertau2019s business objectives in the following areas: u2022 Support and facilitate the development and implementation of Business Development programs aimed at marketing Alberta to and with travel trade, MICE segments in support of Travel Albertau2019s strategic priorities u2022 Support the development of joint marketing agreements with trade partners such as tour operators, airlines, Destination Canada, and other PMOs u2022 Work with the Business Development Team to support tour operators, RTOs, wholesalers, retailers, OTAs, MICE agencies and meeting planners to increase Alberta product offerings and sales to Alberta u2022 Develop, manage and execute business development trip logistics to educate Travel Alberta's key travel trade and MICE partners in assigned markets to grow Albertau2019s market share. u2022 Coordinate and assist with all bookings and operational logistics for tradeshows and events targeting the trade and MICE markets u2022 Develop and review business development Project Authorization Summaries; including a detailed project work-back schedule, Partnership Agreements, Travel Authorities, or other project requirements, in collaboration with the Director, Business Development and In-Market Representatives u2022 Work with the Business Development Team to develop export ready itineraries for tour operators, RTOs, wholesalers, retailers and OTAs to increase Alberta product offerings and ultimately increase sales to Alberta u2022 Support the Finance Team in financial compliance and administration within Travel Alberta and specifically for the Business Development line of business contributing to the accuracy, proficiency and accountability of the Business Development Team. u2022 Provide a supporting role in the development of sales prospects and assist Sales Managers with the solicitation of additional meeting/conference sales and coordinates client follow up u2022 Assist in the co-ordination and preparation of sales missions and trips, arranging sales calls, preparing for trade shows and presentations, and coordinating logistics u2022 Host trade shows and conduct relevant sales meetings and presentations to clients u2022 Organize and deliver familiarization tours and site inspections for visiting clients, including leading/hosting events, preparing presentations and negotiating appropriate rates u2022 Maintain database of clients/accounts and follows up with business opportunity leads u2022 Research market trends, clientsu2019 programs and act as a resource for internal and external clients u2022 Assist with budget planning and forecasting reports u2022 Create and complete proposals and contracts, following up with clients as required u2022 Work to develop and maintain strong relationships with community members, industry partners, and meeting, conference and incentive travel trade clients u2022 Serve as a member liaison to strengthen working relationships with partners in the industry. u2022. u2022 Traveled throughout Alberta hosting free community events in celebration of ATCO Gasu2019 centennial celebration u2022 Liaise between community advisors, supervisors and centennial team u2022 Develop rapport with event coordinators and business and media contacts u2022 Ensure posters and advertising is up throughout the community upon arrival u2022 Maintain inventory of supplies needed for events u2022 Ensure company vehicle is serviced regularly and in good working order. u2022 Train and supervise information desk staff on resort products and RTP u2022 Develop and compile daily/hourly weather operations communications u2022 Update the snow phone, Sitour boards, and grooming report daily/ hourly u2022 Update websites and social media outlets daily - Facebook, Instagram and Twitter u2022 Promote and sell adventure activities to guests u2022 Assist with guests concerns and complaints and help provide solutions u2022 Perform cash-outs and end of the day reporting.
