  I am Samuele Neuberg, I´m 28 years old and I live in Italy. I am currently doing a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Padua (Università degli Studi di Padova) in the group of Prof. Fabrizio Mancin. My doctoral projects focus on understanding the Gold Nanoparticle-mediated photoactivation reactions of Pt(iv) prodrugs and the development of intelligent, light-activated nanocarrier-prodrug assemblies for cancer therapy. My passion for the field of supramolecular chemistry started in the same group, during my Bachelor Thesis (2018) and in a short period spent in the Casini group at the Technical University of Munich (in 2019). During that time I investigated the potential of supramolecular cages as selective drug delivery systems. I spent in total a year and a half, thanks to the Erasmus+ project, during which I also completed the research work for my Master Thesis (with Prof. Roland Fischer, title "Evaluation of the Activity and Selectivity of Dinuclear Cu and Ni-NHC/pyrazolato Complexes for the Electrocatalytic CO2 Reduction"). It was an extraordinary experience for my personal and scientific growth, which comes at the end of my period at TU München, in which I had the opportunity to work in a very challenging environment and to get to know people from all over the world, with different cultures and backgrounds. I also started to study German: I enjoy it a lot, but it is still a work-in-progress skill. Afterwards, I worked for 6 months as an intern at Clariant (research centre in Heufeld, Bavaria), where I was actively involved in the R&D area for the development and optimization of the synthesis of the catalyst for the production of methanol from syngas (heterogeneous catalysis). Later, in October 2021 I moved back to Padova to start my Ph.D., in which I had the opportunity to work in a stimulating environment, strengthening knowledge on: - Organic / Organometallic and Nanomaterial synthesis - Characterization techniques: NMR Spectroscopy, UV-Vis, IR and Fluorescence spectrophotometry, Mass Spectroscopy (HPLC-MS and GC-MS), Thermogravimetric Analysis. - Electrochemistry and electrocatalysis I do not think only and always about Science. I definitively love cycling and climbing, the mountains in general and I have a good feeling for nature. I love traveling and meet new people that can enrich my personality.
