Sandra Conte’s Expertise Exhibitions coordinator, curator, writer, gallery founder and director, researcher, historian, publicist, producer and multidisciplinary artist. Continued freelance work with clients includes government authorities at regional, state and federal levels, commercial gallery owners, national exhibition touring organisations, international arts writers, along with engagement as an arts reviewer/ judge/speaker, and recent biographer for a collaborative publication. She researches and writes across many fields from fine arts to local and sporting history and facilitates client Instagram accounts in the private, business and arts sectors. Having curated hundreds of exhibitions across university, regional and first nations galleries she has unique capacity to bring both the subtly educational and spectacularly immersive to the visitor experience. A career committed to intercultural and environmental engagement across the GLAM (Galleries Libraries and Museums), cultural venues, government and education sectors inclusive of Universities and independent educational institutions. She is also the founding producer of @eARTh_emag now singularly on Instagram. Sandra has served as a Director on Boards including Grace College (University of Queensland), MAGSQ (Museums and Galleries QLD., formerly RGAQ), SALA (South Australian Living Artists' Festival) and Moreton Bay Montessori Association Inc. A former peer assessor for several arts grants bodies, and a named Cultural Champion with Arts Queensland. Past residencies include Logan Art Gallery (creative-in-residence) Caboolture Hub Studio (writer-in-residence), Queensland Art Gallery (collection research residency). Sandra has exhibited her own oeuvre in group and solo exhibitions including Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute (Adelaide); The Darwin Festival, The Gallery Eumundi (now The G Contemporary, Noosa) and Brisbane commercial galleries. Her art work is held in the collections of gallerists, architects, jewellers and writers. Sandra was recently Guest Curator of STILL: National Still Life Art Award 2023 (at the new Yarrila Arts and Museum) and is a Consumer Reviewer of PdCCRS (Priority-Driven Collaborative Cancer Research Scheme) Grants for Cancer Australia.
