Sandy Stash’s Expertise With over 30 years in the oil and gas and mining industries, Sandy Stash has vast, global leadership experience in operations and engineering, business, risk and crisis management, external affairs and communications, sustainability, safety and health, complex litigation, and organizational transformations and start-ups. She spent many years representing business internationally on controversial natural resource, social and sustainability issues with the general public, national and local media, and local, regional and national governments. After a career with ARCO, Anaconda, TNK-BP, BP, and Talisman Energy, Sandy joined Tullow Oil in October 2013. Tullow, headquartered in London, is the largest independent oil and gas company in Europe with operations on five (5) continents. A petroleum engineer by training, Sandy spent her early career as one of the first women to work as a drilling engineer and well site supervisor at ARCO locations across North America. Sandy’s subsequent work in managing discontinued businesses for ARCO and then BP, broadened her experience to include all P&L, operational, legal, strategic planning, financial, and government and media affairs aspects for this suite of mining, manufacturing, and oil businesses. She spent the last ten years leading global functional organizations including operations and engineering, government and public affairs, supply chain management, social performance, safety, environment and sustainability. She has also served on several Boards of Directors including the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, the International Women’s Forum (IWF), the Montana Tech Foundation (as Chairman) and the Colorado School of Mines.
