Sara Levesley’s Expertise I am passionate about teaching and about realising student potential. My teaching career started in Australia and for the past 20 years I have lived and worked in England, where I have successfully developed my skills as a school leader. I have line managed all areas of the school curriculum as well as leading on Careers, PSHCE and community enrichment. I am currently Vice Principal at Walton High, Milton Keynes where I have strategic responsibility for behaviour, attendance and welfare. My experience as a member of SLT has provided me with a broad base from which to make judgements regarding school improvement. My skills in the three core areas of school leadership: curriculum and teaching, culture and ethos and organisational effectiveness are well developed. In my experience, success is only ever achieved through the development of my colleagues’ capacity to lead and manage their areas and cultivate their own potential, hence in each of school I have developed professional and honest relationships always supportive of the overarching vision of my school. Successful leadership is totally dependent on adaptability, approachability, systematic planning and resilience; all skills I believe I demonstrate. I strongly feel that we must balance a passion for learning with a highly developed inclusive enrichment programme and that this is fundamental to improving outcomes for young people. I believe that all students can achieve excellent academic and personal outcomes and I work determinedly with colleagues to ensure that young people are exposed to an outstanding education which equips them with the intellectual curiosity to achieve this. Within this also lies our responsibility to encourage all students to be independent, grounded adults who are determined, confident and ready to take their place in the world.
