  I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of combined emergency medicine and urgent care experience. My doctoral research evaluated the development and efficacy of a mid-level triage system during high volume emergency situations. Upon completion of my doctorate, I served as the Director of Mid-Level Practice for my small emergency department physician's practice until the group was acquired by a national management company. Under my directorship, our mid-level practice grew from 2 providers to 3 full time and 2 prn providers as well as oversaw the development of an Occupational Health branch for the practice. I have maintained certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS throughout my career with no lapses in certification. I am nationally board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and have maintained my NC Board of Nursing Licensure in good standing. I was employed full time as the program director for the Post-Master's Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Western Carolina University for several years and served as assistant professor. Additionally, I taught Advanced Pathophysiology and Advanced Pharmacology for Tennessee Tech University. I continued clinical practice throughout my academic tenure. I was honored to chair many doctoral research projects and collaborate with other faculty members on articles published in emergency nurse practitioner journals.
