Sarah Mckay’s Expertise Dr Sarah McKay is a neuroscientist who translates brain research into strategies for professionals in coaching, women's health, education, and healthcare via training courses, books, and public speaking. Sarah is the author of three books: "The Women's Brain Book. The Neuroscience of Health Hormones and Happiness" (2018) which explores the female lifespan through the lens of neurobiology. A second edition is due in 2025. "Baby Brain. How Pregnancy and Motherhood Sculpt Your Brain and Change Your Mind (for the better)" (2023). "Brain Health For Dummies" will be launched by the iconic black and yellow Wiley brand in January 2025. As the founder and director of The Neuroscience Academy, Sarah provides continuing education and development for professionals keen to leverage neuroscience as a tool for human change. If you're seeking a speaker for your next event, Sarah’s blend of education, inspiration, wry humour, and practical brain science application has made her an audience favourite. Speaking clients include TikTok Australia, Vogue Australia, EY, Winona School and SMG Coaching. In 2019, Sarah hosted an episode of ABC Catalyst, examining brain health, bio-hacking, and longevity. Sarah earned her MSc and DPhil from Oxford University (thanks to generous funding from The Wellcome Trust) and, after four years of postdoctoral research in neuroplasticity in Sydney, Australia, swapped her lab coat for running a science communications business, bridging the gap between the lab and everyday life. Sarah's work has been widely published for both consumer and professional audiences. She’s been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Grazia, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and Mamamia, and featured on SBS Insight, ABC Catalyst, ABC Radio National, Radio New Zealand, and Channel 7. Living in paradise on Sydney's Northern Beaches with her Irish husband, Sarah raises two teenage surfer dudes and one Welsh springy spaniel.
