  I have recently graduated from the Conservation and Environmental Sustainability Certificate Program at Columbia University. My dream job is to work in the Environmental field in an academic institution in either a teaching or research position. Let me tell you about myself. My background is varied, but contains substantial experience in Community Planning and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Previous to this work, I was an Anthropologist for several years. I have been in the Planning profession in southeast Pennsylvania for the last nine years. For the first five of those years I was employed as a GIS Planning Analyst with the Berks County Planning Commission. I was also involved in comprehensive planning projects, including Vision 2020 a Comprehensive Plan for Berks County, the Berks County Greenway Parks and Recreation Plan and as a Trustee to the Schuylkill River Greenway Association. For the past three years I have been involved with both the Private and Public sectors. I have conducted Community Planning outreach, comprehensive planning, zoning and land development review while working on implementation projects ranging from Conservation Zoning to GIS and Internet development. I believe I can bring a wealth of experience to students or the community in Community Planning and GIS. Within the Planning field, I can teach Introduction to Regional and Community Planning, Advanced Regional and Community Planning, and Environmental Planning. I have taught GIS as an adjunct faculty for two years so within the Information Technology field, I can teach Introduction to Geographic Information Systems, Advanced Geographic Information, and Conservation GIS. Now upon completion of my Conservation Certificate in 2012 I will be able to teach additional classes in the Environmental Field. Although my background is varied, I do believe that I would be a valued addition to your Organization or College and ask you to please consider my application.
