From December 1974 to March 1976 he was involved in Italian research on circular waveguide transmission. During this period, Sergio lead the implementation of the Medium Voltage Telecontrol, the start-up of the Medium Voltage Grid Automation and finally the start-up of Telegestore’s project (ENEL’s Automated Meter Management project for the electricity meters). From February 2003 to February 2006 Sergio was appointed as Metering System Chief Technical Officer at ENEL Distribuzione and from February 2006 to June 2008 Sergio was in charge of Remote Metering System Function at ENEL Distribuzione . From September 2001 to September 2004, Sergio was also Chairman of Powerline Communication Forum (Broadband Power Line or BPL) and until June 2008 Chairman of CEI CT13 (Italian Meter Technical Committee). Since march 2009 until November 2014, Sergio was committed as Technical Director (until November 2012) and then as consultant (until November 2014) with MeteRSit S.r.l.,a start-up company encorporated to develop new gas meters compliant with the Italian and European requirements.
