Shaerii Sarker’s Expertise My PhD project involved extensive utilization of stable isotopes of elements like Carbon, Hydrogen and Nitrogen in tracing the origin of plants using bulk and compound analysis. The project also concerned modeling the effects of climatic and geographic variables on plants using statistical language R.I was associated in teaching preliminary forensic chemistry analyses to second, third and fourth year science students. The preparation of samples and utilization of GC, GC MS and stable isotope instruments e.g. Thermal Conversion Elemental Analyzer, Gas Chromatograph Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer were also provided to the students. My work involved voice and video recognition using spectrographic and automatic analysis of samples from real crime evidences. Conducted fingerprint analysis and visited crime scenes. Prepared forensic reports on the analyses for police and judicial purposes. My work here involved on a a large variety of Forensic analyses. The work primarily involved voice and video recognition using spectrographic and automatic analysis of samples from real crime evidences. Instruments like Atomic Absorption Spectrometer was utilized to analyze Ba, Sb and Cu in real gunshot residue samples. Samples sent for copyright issues were also analyzed. Automatic Tensile Tester was used in testing tensile strength of cloth evidence materials. Stereo microscope for fiber analysis and comparison microscope for fired bullet and cartridge identification were also conducted. Assisted supervisor in visiting scenes of crime and prepared forensic reports for police and judicial purposes. The most prestigious organization for conducting cellular and molecular biological research in India. A part of MSc dissertation program was conducted here. My project was based on the extraction of DNA from wildlife samples, running PCR and sequencing their DNA using BLAST software.Analysis of seminal fluid from human and animal sources were conducted to trace their differences using mainly chemical (spot tests, color tests, thin layer chromatography) with microbiological (enzymes, DNA) and microscopic tests. One of the top ranked top research organization for providing nuclear education in India and internationally.Selected to complete Summer Studentship during MSc (Forensic Science). My project involved using Neutron Activation Analysis on analyzing major and trace elements in aluminium wire samples, analyzing samples for Cu, Ba and Sb using Radiochemical Neutron Activation Analysis and examining hair sample for As and Hg using Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis. One of the best chemical laboratories in India. Selected for Summer Studentship program during under-graduation in B.Sc Chemistry Honours. Exposed to working in a Synthetic Organic Chemistry laboratory. Worked on project related to synthesis of coumarins and also utilized column and thin layer chromatography.
