  I start a new journey in 2007 as a single mother of 3 children. My journey lead me to Cape Fear Community College where I started working on one of my two Associate Degrees. Over the next several years I worked two part time jobs while working on my degrees. One of the part time positions I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work was a Work-Study position in the Business Office at Cape Fear Community College. This later opened doors to other positions at the college. I was able to gradually move up within the college. I learned so much during my time there and I was truly blessed to work with some wonderful people along the way. I had some great mentors who offered some wonderful guidance that has really helped me with my achievements. During my time at Cape Fear I earned two Associate Degrees and two Certificates. I went on to complete my Bachelor's Degree with Wesleyan College and my Master's Degree with Trident University. I can also say I have watched all 3 of my children graduate high school, my oldest went to CFCC and graduated with an Associate degree. My daughter completed early college high school with two associate degrees, went to ECU and finished her Bachelor's Degree in 2 Years, the finished her MBA in less than 2 Years all before she turned 21. Now I have another son who is heading to ECU in the Fall. I have to say I am very proud of my children. I look forward to seeing where the future takes them. I left CFCC after 10 years and started working at UNC Wilmington. I currently am the Accounting Specialist for Non-Student Billing. I really enjoy my job and enjoy the people I work with. I consider myself to be very blessed in so many ways. I am still learning new things each and every day which I love. University Of North Carolina Wilmington
