  Inspired by a high school practicum course with Austin’s Park Rangers, I sought out opportunities to raise my voice — and those from my community — to support Austin’s environmental movement. In 2019, I joined a team of twelve Community Climate Ambassadors to support the creation of the newly adopted Austin Climate Equity Plan. I continued exploring my passions by becoming a member of the 2021 Youth Forest Council with the City of Austin’s Urban Forestry team. In the past, I have also been an intern with Keep Austin Beautiful, the Texas Nature Conservancy, and Austin's Park Rangers. Now I am a committee member with Cities Connecting Children to Nature’s Emerging Green Leaders (EGLs), an intern at Families In Nature (FIN) and a Digital Media Specialist at the Austin Civilian Conservation Corps (ACCC). The evolving story of conservation work matters to me because I want to give people who have historically been underrepresented a voice in today’s conservation work. Additionally, we must all work together to become climate resilient by building and working with communities first, but all communities need to find a love of nature in order to want to fight for it. Furthermore, in Spring 2024, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability Studies and a minor in Media Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. This summer I hope to spend more time outdoors and continue to grow in my media skills and hobbies such as freelancing, gardening, boxing, yoga and crocheting. Additionally, I plan on continuing with ACCC, EGLs, and FIN in the next year either doing a gap year and getting a masters degree in Urban Design or working on getting a full time job in graphic and motion design and videography.
