Sherri Farmer’s Expertise Having designed and implemented the new middle school STEM course for RCSA Intracoastal, it is now time to move on and develop new courses. Drawing on my years of experience teaching math and science, as well as the STEM research I participated in at Purdue University, I am excited to begin a new chapter. In the fall, I will be working to develop curriculum that offers students the chance to incorporate their existing knowledge in active learning situations, thereby extending their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The new curriculum will be situated in and guided by the study of electrical engineering (electrical circuits, PCB’s and their design, etc.) and mechanical engineering principles this first year with a shift toward civil and chemical engineering in the succeeding years. This is a great opportunity for all—and I can’t wait!!
