In recognition of my contributions and efforts from the DSRC Trials I was promoted to Engineer level and then got involved a several schemes including design and commissioning elements of ITS. My Arup career expanded my skills and experiences in a different capacity to the traditional aspects of ITS work I became familiar with previously. Initially, worked on a highway scheme but since have had a large involvement in compiling HA Maintenance Contracts, and conducting HA PAF and CAR Audits of their Technology Service Providers. In between I gained valuable exposure to other schemes (i.e. Parking Guidance Information Systems, CCTV systems) and some high profile schemes such as the Forth Road Crossing project and the New Tyne Tunnel. At Jacobs I flourished in many areas including in enhancing my project management skills. I worked on projects such as the M6 J13-15 Smart Motorways project, M20 J3-5 Smart Motorways project, and on the A9 Dualling project. I continued my development into wider ITS after successfully obtaining my Chartered Engineer qualification from the IET. I moved to Sweco in 2017 to further my career to the next level and was promoted to my current position as a Principal Engineer position. I have been managing the Technology discipline inputs across a number of National Highways schemes amongst other works. I am always open to expanding my knowledge and experience within ITS as its a vast field and helping our team grow for the better.
