Shuvashis Dey’s Expertise A hard-working, result driven and highly self-motivated individual with expertise in microwave and radio frequency (RF) engineering. I have a diversified background developed through the exposure to different parts of the world. I completed my PhD from Monash University, Australia. During my candidature, I developed a range of radio frequency Identification (RFID) based passive tags and sensors for different application areas of Internet of Things (IoT). I also pursued a part of my PhD at MIT Auto ID labs, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. I developed an excellent proficiency on RF electromagnetics and antenna theory through my master's in Wireless Networks degree from Queen Mary University of London, UK. My undergraduate studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology-Durgapur, India has laid the background of all my acquired technical skills and research capabilities. My key skills and specialties are as follows: - In-depth understanding of electromagnetic (EM) theory and antenna engineering with the ability to design antenna, perform electromagnetic modelling and simulation as well as antenna performance measurement. - Sound understanding and experience in Analog RF design and RFID based pervasive sensor development as well as thorough knowledge on UHF, microwave, UWB and mm-wave based communication systems. - Hands-on experience of working with RF and microwave measurements devices such as signal generators, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) and Spectrum Analyzer and ability to use EM simulation tools such as CST Microwave studio, ANSYS HFSS, ADS and analytical tools such as MATLAB, and OriginLab. - Experience with technical writing, demonstrated leadership and collaborative skills along with an excellent communication and interpersonal skills developed through active participation in different conferences and seminars across the world.
