  I am an English Conversation and CLIL teacher in a private school in Northern Italy, working with primary school children. My periods of academic study were interspersed with years of working including a three-year spell in the darkroom of a Yorkshire based photographic agency, where my skills in photographic printing was consolidated, and my keen interest in documentary photography began. Following a move to Italy in 2002, I have concentrated on teaching English to school-age learners and, as a result, I have become interested in my own professional development, which led to an interest in the history of ESL teaching. Reading key works by renown authors (Scrivener, Thornbury, Ur, Batstone, Woodward etc.) helps me keep up to date with innovative teaching methods.
